The Royal LePage Snow to Surf is an annual adventure relay race in the Comox Valley. The race has 9 legs (Alpine Skiing, Snowshoeing, Cross-Country Skiing, Running, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Road Cycling, and Canoeing) that starts at the top of Mt Washington and works its way down the mountain, over the Comox Lake, through Cumberland and Courtenay, and finishes in the Comox Harbour.

We were asked to create new promotional art & poster that would stand apart from previous years. We proposed showcasing the beautiful scenery & communities the race goes through rather than focusing on the legs or the athletes themselves. We took it a step further by incorporate some of the key sights (the Comox Glacier, Mt Albert-Edward, the Royston Wrecks, the lakes & rivers, etc.) into the actual year number. This allowed people to see the important information first and then get drawn closer as they look through the detail within the ’33’.
