Artifact is a beautifully curated boutique shop, located in Downtown Courtenay since 2009, that focuses on small-batch, hand-made, and slow fashion created by independent Canadian artist, designers, and makers.

When the owner decided it was time to fully refresh their branding, we were asked with everything, from helping to select a new name that best reflect the core values of the business, as well as logo, marketing materials, and signage.

NAME & LOGO UPDATE
The shops name, ARTIFACT, comes from the Latin phrase ‘arte factum’ meaning ‘to make by skill’. This new name is well suited to a shop that values human craft and the longevity of garments and objects made with quality workmanship.
The logo is a 100% custom made font designs to be clean, simple, modern and to work along side any item in the store without taking attention away from the product itself.
WINDOW DECALS & SIGNAGE
Part of the design for the logo shape was to use it as part of the decals by using if to help ‘frame’ and bring attention to specific items in the window displays.
