The Alberni Valley is a scenic region on Vancouver Island, BC, centered around the city of Port Alberni at the head of the Alberni Inlet. Known for its mild climate and natural surroundings, it offers outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and boating at Sproat Lake, alongside historic sites like the McLean Mill and a museum.

We were asked to partner on redesigning the website, and as part of the project we refreshed the overall look and feel for Alberni Valley Tourism’s branding.

LOGO UPDATE
We wanted to refresh the logo by giving the wordmark a bit more personality, and reflect the environment surrounding the valley, while keeping the familiar icon from the previous logo. We created a custom font for the ‘Alberni Valley’ wordmark, incorporating some movement and texutre into the shapes of the letters.
We made sure the logo suite was versatile by having various formats that kept the elements within the logo cohesive and consistent for every application.
APPLICATIONS SAMPLES
As part of the branding presentation we created some fictional marketing materials to show how the branding could work for various print collateral.

We worked along side, and used the wireframes created by Medium Rare Interactive, to design the user interface and make sure the look & feel of the refreshed branding remain throughout the on the website.
The Alberni Valley has so much to see, do, and taste! It is worth spending the time to explore all the area has to offer.
