Kind Words: Edible Island

After recently completing the rebrand for Edible Island, we of course wanted to know what the client thought and if we could get a short testimonial to accompany it on our site, but we were so touched by these kind words, we had to share them…

A TESTIMONIAL FOR IAN ADAMS

Ian is an outstanding creative mind and a huge asset to local business’s and our community as a whole.
It all started with us wanting to do a mural on the side of our building, similar to the Leung’s building mural behind us, so we called in the artist who painted that mural.

With him, came this Ian guy… Ian, who suggested we may want to consider a brand refresher at the same time as the mural design. My initial thought was “Who is this guy?”, but during the meeting I observed that he listened intently, took many notes, and had a very professional, thoughtful demeanour. I agreed to give him the go ahead to ‘see what he could come up with’.

Following our initial meeting and several back and forths, Ian submitted a mural design proposal, and updated logo/brand package.
It was like nothing I had envisioned.

For the logo, Ian took our input and feedback, creating custom font utilizing (and updating) elements of the original ‘logo’ hand drawn by original co-op members almost 45 years ago… brilliant!

The branding package we received from Ian has been an immense help shaping the direction of all of our marketing campaigns.

I feel Ian truly went above and beyond to protect and honour our brand heritage.

And for the mural… it’s been almost a year since it was completed.  To say that I am (still) thrilled with the results is an understatement. In fact, the whole community is thrilled with the results.

I have received compliment after compliment… and a year later I receive compliments over Ian’s designs.

Some of the comments from Social Media;

• “It’s beautiful!  So bright and vibrant.  That’s one happy wall..”
• “Someone made a piece of downtown actually look nice? – Good job.”
• “Its so creative, colorful and beautifies the surroundings…thankyou!”

One comment stands out for myself personally, I think it captures the way many of us feel about Ian’s design, and puts into words what we wanted to accomplish before we started, even if we couldn’t put it into words ourselves. – from one of our long term customers:

We had such a great experience throughout the entire creative process working with Ian. He never hesitated to make as many edits as were needed, and his work ethic and communication skills are impeccable.

Professional, smart, dynamic, dedicated, and gifted are just some of the words I would use to describe Ian. Edible has never been prouder of the brand, and I look forward to working with and trusting Ian on many future projects to come.
